How Accreditation Works

Every five years all certified prosthetists and orthotists must complete a minimum of 30 hours of qualifying credits. OrtoPed workshops help attendees reach that goal by working with accrediting bodies to offer Mandatory Continuing Education credits (MCEs).

Certificate of Completion

In 2010 more than 170 Canadian practitioners received CECs via OrtoPed’s commitment to providing continuing education opportunities. In 2011 OrtoPed will continue to play a key role in continuing education as a leader, organizer and sponsor of professional seminars, workshops and industry lectures. Continuing education is pivotal to maintaining certification and demonstrates a commitment to standards of professional competence. We work closely with the Canadian Board for Certification of Prosthetists and Orthotists (C.B.C.P.O.) to ensure that our continuing education program is serving its purpose and that the objectives of the program support the professional development of all practitioners across the country.
