The orthopedic aid for foot drop
The Dictus Band lifts the foot immediately after toe off. This reduces the risk of tripping over everyday obstacles such as doorsteps and carpets. The Dictus Band takes limited room in the shoe, is discreet and fits easily on any lace-up shoe.

Fitting
Place the ankle strap on top of the user's sock (not directly on the skin). Loosen and tighten the band using the two Velcro straps. Attach the hooks to the shoelace holes (with hook openings facing the toe) and then secure the elastic band between the D-ring and the hooks. The distance between the D-ring and the hooks determines the elastic band's lifting ability. Try different shoelace holes until you achieve the desired function.
Precautions and Care
Check that the parts are fitted correctly.
The elastic band's seam should be placed in the middle of the knot at the D-ring. Any other positioning may lead to breakage. Do not expose the elastic band to direct sunlight as this will shorten its life. The elastic band is subject to wear and should be replaced when necessary, or at least once every three months. Always keep a spare. Spare elastic bands should be kept in a cool dark place.
Clean the ankle strap with a damp cloth. No other cleaner is to be used. Check that the D-ring, Velcro and fastening hooks are always in good condition.
If the elastic band or any other part breaks of comes loose, the foot can no longer be in the upright position, and there is the risk the user may fall.
