OAK Orthotic Knee Joint and Orthosis

The OAK (Osteo-Arthritis Knee) polycentric orthotic knee joint has been engineered to provide motion that better approximates normal physiologic knee movement for use in a custom Osteoarthritic Knee Orthosis. Unlike simple pivot knee joints, the polycentric action of the OAK provides inherent stability at full extension and easy gliding during swing phase. This allows the patient to feel the “glide flex” stability during the first 5° of flexion. This flexion is dynamically adjustable with extension stops to meet rehabilitative demands. Also, the OAK Orthosis is available with either Comfil Thermo Formable Composite or Thermoplastic materials that can be custom fit with a heat gun for increased comfort and support.

Specifications:
- Full range of knee flexion from 12°—150° with an optional 30° extension adjustable stop and 110° flexion stop
- Mild to severe medial, unicompartmental osteoarthritis
- Patients requiring a polycentric knee joint
Indications:
- Lateral unicompartmental or bicompartmental osteoarthritis
- Low load tolerance at thigh and shin
- Patients with minimal or painful popliteal area for suspension
- Severe knee sprain or ligamentous damage (ACL and/or PCL)
- Thin skin or patients with high skin breakdown

- 12 months on frame and hinges, against manufacturers defects
- 6 months on soft goods, against manufacturers defects
